Bourbon Apple Cider Cocktail
It's happening! Our weather in the past few days has dropped a whopping 10-15 degrees and I'm officially calling it FALL! Sure the drop only led us to a high of 70ish degrees. But I'm taking what I can get, and running with it. I'm in long sleeves, and even wore a scarf to my night class this week. I'm loving it. Give or take a couple of hot flashes.
When one makes apple cider it's only natural to make it into a cocktail! Hello! The added bourbon gives it a warm familiar and slightly spicy taste that only bourbon can do. Did you know that it's a law that no flavorings or color additives can go in during bourbon-making process? That means it's...natural...which means...it must be good for you?! Yeah, let's go with that.
What makes these so good? Well bourbon and apple cider of course. They're stars on their own, but even better when they team up together. It's appley, warm, spicy, bourbony, aaand a little fizzy!
I started out with just apple cider and bourbon. It was great! But it needed something more. Add a glug of ginger ale, and you've got it! The ginger ale (I could drink ginger ale forever and ever) gives it bubbles and wraps the flavors together better. It almost feels like a bourbon apple beer of some sort because of the slight carbonation. So good. See for yourself!
