Shamrock Shake
Each year as soon as I see the signs that Shamrock Shakes are back, I make a bee-line straight for the drive thru to get mine! They are one of the things I look forward to each March. I'm not the only one, am I? They cool minty ice cream with the fluffy whipped cream just makes my mouth water.
Now you can make them at home all year round! They take less than 5 minutes. And what's even better is you know what's going inside of it. No preservatives, no secret ingredients! You can feel even better about your guilty pleasure when you're making it yourself.
Shamrock Shake:
2 cups of your favorite vanilla ice cream
1 1/4 cups milk
1/4 tsp. mint extract (NOT peppermint extract)
green food coloring, about 10 drops
Whipped Cream:
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
3 T. sugar
Directions:
Place the ice cream, milk, mint extract, and food coloring in the blender and run until smooth. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the whipping cream until stiff peaks form, then mix in sugar. Pour the shakes into 2 glasses, and top with whipped cream. Enjoy!
