Easy Bavarian Cream Filling
A creamy, sweet, vanilla filling that takes your cake up a notch.
I love this stuff. Not only because it tastes so good I could eat it with a spoon, but because of how simple it is to make! I call this the "cheater" bavarian cream filling. Normally bavarian cream is made with lots of eggs, and involves heating the mixture. Who's got time for that? No thanks! I like my cheater version so much better! You can whip it up in less time than you spend making your frosting! Seriously, 5 minutes!
Fill your cakes with this in between layers. Fill cupcakes with it. Put in in cream puffs! Donuts anyone?! This filling is so versatile. You can use it in almost anything. And the taste is so wonderful. It's not too custard-like, it's creamy and fluffy. So it holds up well as a filling, unlike a normal bavarian cream filling. It is not slimy or slippery. This simple addition makes cakes taste fancier.. Don't just take my word for it, try it in your next baking adventure!
Easy Bavarian Cream Filling:
Makes 4 cups
1 package Instant Vanilla Pudding (5.1 oz package)
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2-5 Tb. milk
Directions:
Beat the whipping cream on high until stiff peaks form. Run the mixer on low while slowly sprinkling in the pudding powder. Mix until fully incorporated. Add milk 1 Tb. at a time, to reach desired spreading consistency. Add more milk for a thinner, smoother filling.
Enjoy!
