Strawberry Lemonade Slush

Sometimes we just really want something sweet.

And sometimes is too dang hot to use the oven.

So what do we do? We make strawberry lemonade slushies! 

At our house, we always have a nice stockpile of strawberries in the fridge during summer. Especially now that my sister is home for the summer. She is fueled by strawberries and strawberries alone.

We also have a bunch of lemons growing on our tree that I've been meaning to use up.

Nothing says hello summer like strawberry lemonade. The slush part is a nice addition to your 95 degree afternoon.

Made with simple ingredients you probably have on hand, you can whip these babies up in no time! 

Let's do this.

Cut the strawberry stems off and wash your lemons. Get a lil' sugar, and some ice.

None of that strawberry lemonade powder nonsense.

When life gives you lemons....... JUICE 'EM!!!

Dump the strawberries and lemon juice in the blender, and blend those babies up! Strawberry lemonade concentrate. Or something..

Then sprinkle with sugar, and dump in the ice. BLEND!!

Ta-da!

Strawberry Lemonade Slush:

Makes 3 servings

1/2 cup lemon juice

2-3 cups strawberries

2-3 Tb. sugar

3 cups ice

Directions:

Juice enough lemons to get about 1/2 cup lemon juice. It took me 6 small lemons. 

In a blender, blend up the strawberries and lemon juice until there are no more large chunks.

Add in a few tablespoons of sugar and blend.

Then dump in the ice cubes and blend. Add more if you desire and more slushy consistency.

Add more ice and sugar to your taste preference, and serve!
