Sprinkles Of My Life
Is it just me or is August one of the fastest passing months? Well, here we are, stumbling into September whether we're ready or not. Do you hear Christmas music yet? I'm sure it's about to start any day now. I don't know why people complain about hearing Christmas music for a few months of the year. The rest of the time they play the same songs over and over too so it's not any different!
Did you see Pumpkin Spice Lattes are here already? Would you believe me if I said I've never tried one? That is until this week. I tried my first Pumpkin Spice Latte. I've always been sort of grossed out at the thought of them. I can't explain why, but for some reason I was actually wanting to try one! And I loved it. I GET IT! I get they hype! And of course, I had to document it on Instagram. Who do you think I am?
My two sisters with their families came to visit from Colorado and Utah recently. In the 3 days that they were here we packed in so much stuff to do! We took the babies to the zoo, we went bowling, we visited our grandmother, we had a BBQ, s'mores around the fire pit, and squeezed in 3 movie nights too! It was so good to see them and their babies. It's hard having family that's far away. I miss them so much already!
Paul and I went shopping in Walnut Creek before we started school, and he surprised me with buying me a massage. I'd never had one before, and it was AMAZING! The woman was so good, and so professional, which made me super comfortable. Funny thing happened at the end though. She asked me what my boyfriend would think if I became a model, to which I responded some giggling flattered answer. Then she went on to tell me that she could see me in "one of those Carl's Jr. commercials".?!?!?! HAH!!!! I'm still laughing at that.
One of my best friends had her bachelorette party and bridal shower this past month, and it was SO MUCH FUN! I made some super cute desserts for the Bridal Shower that I'll be posting. Spice Sugar Cookies shaped like tea bags, and Cake Pops shaped like tea pots! They were so adorable.
On my way home from visiting my friend, I stopped at the Avila Valley Barn in Avila to pick my own apples! I loved that place when I used to live in SLO, so I wanted to make a stop before I left. They have so much amazing food there, and I always stock up on the Ollalaberry jam they have. I was hoping to pick some Ollalaberries but they're out of season, so they only had apples. I got to sit on the hayride with a group of people and we got driven down to the apple orchard. We were given bags and sent on our way to pick apples to our hearts' desire! It was so neat. It was quite relaxing, since I was alone, walking down the rows and just taking it all in. It's so beautiful there. I made applesauce with my apples, and i still have some leftover apples to use up.
I started another semester of school already, and I feel like I've been picked up by a whirlwind! My schedule is all over the place this semester, so life feels a little chaotic right now. Hopefully I will settle into this new routine soon enough. I've just got to get through this semester and then it's time for Paris! And Rome!! I'm getting so excited for our trip!
Here's a roundup of my most recent posts, in case you've missed anything!
