Ultimate S'mores Dip
I know I'm way late to be finally jumping on the s'mores train. But I've finally come around to making something s'mores themed, and it's pretty ULTIMATE! (hence the name). S'mores have had their day, and they are still going strong! I think this s'mores dip makes up for all the lost time. Ooey, gooey, melty, chocolatey, peanut buttery, caramel-y, and salty! Need I say more?
My mom always stashes away s'mores supplies and keeps the cupboard stocked and ready for an impromptu s'mores event. I think that's the main reason my parents bought a fire pit a few years ago. Any excuse for s'mores! So naturally, we had everything on hand to make this.
It seems that people are upping their s'mores game everywhere you look. Adding peanut butter cups, caramel sauce, even fruit! So I thought I'd try my hand at some not-so-average-s'mores.
What's great about this s'mores dip is that there is no campfire required! Make them in the oven any time you want. Even any season! It's not as messy as traditional s'mores, quicker, safer, and soooooo good.
Keep in mind though, this is RICH. I could only handle 2 bites. Between 6 people, we barley finished half of this small skillet. It goes a long way!
All you need are some assorted chocolate candies, marshmallows, and graham crackers for dipping. I used mini peanut butter cups, rolos, and chocolate bar pieces. Not only did I use graham crackers for scooping it up, but PRETZELS! The perfect sweet and salty s'more combination I ever did taste. You could mix and match with all sorts of chocolate and dipping ideas!
You've got to try this, you really can't go wrong! I used a 6-inch cast iron skillet, but you could easily make it in a 6-inch cake pan, or double it to fit a 9x9 pan, or even a pie pan.
- 1 cup assorted chocolate candies
- about 15 marshmallows
- graham crackers
- pretzels
