Hi there!

I’m a scientist who loves to bake, and here is where I document my adventures. Maybe you’ll learn a thing a two. Thanks for being here!

Sea Salt Caramel Brownies

Sea Salt Caramel Brownies

sea salt caramel brownies

Rich, fudgy brownies laced with a caramel drizzle and sprinkled with sea salt.

Remember that caramel sauce I posted last week? Well that fresh homemade caramel sauce went straight into another recipe! These amazing-drool-inducing-over-the-top-sea-salt-caramel-brownies. YUP.

I used my recipe for The Best Brownies and made them with cocoa powder instead of melting chocolate (because I was too lazy to go to the store to get the chocolate), and loaded them up with homemade caramel sauce! And to take them one step further, I sprinkled them in sea salt.

These were one of those recipes that you have to get rid of FAST. I was afraid I'd eat the whole pan, so I stashed them in the freezer ASAP.  Now I have them at the ready for whenever I'm craving one.

Enjoy!

  • 1/2 tea. salt
  • 1/2 tea. espresso powder

Pour 1/2 of the batter into a prepared 9 inch pan. Drizzle 1/4 a cup of caramel sauce over the top. Then pour the remaining 1/2 of the brownie batter and spread over the caramel layer. Drizzle the remaining 1/4 cup of caramel sauce over the top, and drag a toothpick through it to create a design, if desired. Sprinkle with sea salt.4. Bake at 325 for about 25-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs. Let cool completely before cutting and serving. Serve with additional caramel sauce if desired!
