Sprinkles Of My Life
Where did June go?! I can't believe it's almost over! And the 4th of July is in just a few days! Are you ready? What are you doing for the 4th? We're not doing anything big this year. We went to Tahoe last year, (which was a blast!) but this year we're taking it easy. I'll probably be soothing Riley all night because the fireworks scare her so much, poor thing!
Paul and I finally watched The Grand Budapest Hotel. Loved it! I love Wes Anderson movies. I found this on living in a Wes Anderson movie..
When I was putting my bags in the trunk of my car the other day, Riley took it upon herself to jump right into my trunk! She wanted me to know she was ready to go with me ;)
Paul made my Peanut Butter Dog Treats! He had them fresh out of the oven when Riley and I visited. She loved them! He made the Eiffle Tower, a squirrel, a star, a bone, and a heart! I think he did a pretty good job, they're so cute! And of course, Riley loved them.
I've been pretty overwhelmed with summer school these last few weeks. For some unknown reason I decided to take Calculus over the summer (and a literature class). Don't ask. So I have been devoting much of my evenings and most of my weekends to the abundance of homework and studying necessary. I've been doing derivatives in my sleep!
I have, however, managed to sneak in some baking and conjuring up of a few things! Did you see my American Flag Ruffle Cake? It's what you're missing in your 4th of July party planning! It's easier than it looks, I promise.
I've sort of been obsessed with ice cream making this month. I posted a Caramel-Swirl Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Covered Pretzels, which is AMAZING. Mine and Paul's new favorite! But I also have made 4 batches of Vanilla Bean (my mom gave away pints of it), mint chocolate chip, chocolate, aaand coconut! Whew! I hope my poor little ice cream maker doesn't give out on me, I've been over working it! Keep an eye out for new ice cream flavors coming to the blog. My grandma claims that it's "better than Baskin Robins"! She's sweet. :)
GUESS WHAT!! Paul and I have officially booked a trip, and we're going to Paris and Rome!! We leave in December. Ahhh!!! I can't believe it's finally happening. We've been talking about it for 3 years! If any of you have been before, I am dying for all your tips!
For all the walking we'll be doing, we are thinking of running a half-marathon the month before our trip, so we have to dedicate ourselves to getting more in shape. Neither of us have done a real marathon before, nor do I claim to be an actual "runner". So I've been looking up some running schedules to train. I'm a little scared!
My Strawberry Lemonade Slush was featured in a list of summer lemonade drinks HERE!!!
Here's what I posted this past month, in case you missed anything:

I guess I have been pretty busy!
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe 4th of July! Happy Independence Day!
