Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting
Rich, creamy, smooth chocolatey cream cheese frosting.
This frosting is rich, and decadent. Not too sweet, and perfectly tangy. A wonderful change from the usual super-sweet buttercream. Besides, who doesn't love an excuse to sneak some cream cheese into things?
Cream cheese frosting isn't taken advantage of enough, if you ask me. It's so creamy, and delicious. It's a wonderful contrast to sweet things like cupcakes or cake. It's a special treat when you're cake is covered in cream cheese frosting, compared to the usual, run-of-the-mill buttercream! It makes things a little fancier, and more special.
Spice up your next cake by covering it in some Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting! You'll wish you found it sooner.
You don't need a cake for this frosting either, enjoying it with a bowl and a spoon work just fine. ;-)
Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe:
makes 1 cup
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 Tb. butter, softened
2 Tb. cocoa powder
2 tsp. milk
a pinch of salt
1 cup powdered sugar
Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting Directions:
Cream together the cream cheese and butter for 5 minutes, until smooth.
Slowly mix in the cocoa powder.
Add 1 tsp. of milk.
Slowly mix in the powdered sugar, adding the second tsp. of milk when needed to smooth it out.
Beat until frosting is smooth. Add more powdered sugar for a stiffer consistency, and more milk for a smoother, thinner consistency.
