Hi there!

I’m a scientist who loves to bake, and here is where I document my adventures. Maybe you’ll learn a thing a two. Thanks for being here!

No-bake Energy Balls

No-bake Energy Balls

These bite sized energy balls are packed with protein and nutrients that make for the perfect on-the-go snack.

These protein balls have been on my to-make list for a long time.  And I'm so glad I've finally gotten around to making some! They are so simple and easy to make. Even better, is that there is no oven use required! Perfect when your oven and creativity have gone awry. Just sayin'..

What I love about these is how versatile they are. You can switch up the add-ins and mix it up in so many ways! Add nuts, raisins, or something else. I can't wait to see what other variations I come up with.

Grab a large bowl, a wooden spoon, and roll up your sleeves. It's protein ball time!

Pour everything in a bowl, and with a little elbow grease you'll get it all combined in no time. Roll into balls just like you would with cookie dough. Except this is NOT cookie dough-sorry. If you're now craving cookies, may I suggest this, or these, or these.

Now back to these HEALTHY balls of "dough"... After they are rolled into balls you can eat some right away which I'm sure you will, and then store the rest in the refrigerator in an air-tight container.

THAT'S IT!

Recipe by Julia @ Sprinkled With Jules

These bite sized energy balls are packed with protein and nutrients that make for the perfect on-the-go snack.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Yield: 15-20 balls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned dry oats
  • 1/2 cup sweetened coconut flakes
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup ground flax seed (I used my food processor)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (I used mini)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 T. sunflower seeds
  • 1 T. chia seeds

Cooking Directions

  1. In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients until thoroughly combined.
  2. Using your hands, roll mixture into balls like you would with cookie dough, about 2-3 tablespoons per ball. Use your hands to squish the mixture together if it falls apart.
  3. Place in an air-tight container in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes-1 hour before eating.
  4. Store in the refrigerator.
  5. Makes about 15 large balls.
