Packing for Paris and Rome in the Winter

As I prepared for my first trip abroad to Paris and Rome, many thoughts filled my mind. What will the weather be like? What should I wear? How many outfits should I bring? How many pairs of shoes? When am I ever going to start learning some French and Italian phrases? Should I start dieting to make up for all the food I plan to eat? (slightly kidding)

Sprinkles Of My Life

Today marks the end of 2014. How are we feeling about this past year? Happy? Sad? Relived? Anxious? Embarrassed? I'd say reflective, to say the least. This past year has had many ups and downs for me, and I must say I am happy to be kissing 2014 goodbye. Not that it was a bad one, but it had it's heaviness.

Mimosa Sangria

The easiest to prepare, this Mimosa Sangria will be the spotlight at your New Year's party!

I can't wait to make this for future bridal showers, brunches, and New Year's parties. All it takes is a few minutes of prep the night before, and you have the most delicious bubbly sangria the next day

Cranberry Salsa

As weird as the words cranberry and salsa sound together, cranberry salsa is actually really good! Think of it as salsa's sweeter cousin with a little pizzaz. It's tart, tangy, a little sweet, with a little bit of spicy. Of course the spicy-ness is all up to you and how heavy your jalepeño hand is.

Cranberry Shrub (Drinking Vinegar)

With cranberries all around, I wanted to make something using the tart little fruits other than cranberry sauce because I'm not particularly a fan of the stuff. I've seen a lot of shrub recipes over the summer and though this would be a perfect time to try one! And I'm not talking about a bush here, this is a form of drinking vinegar.

Black Bottom Pumpkin Pie

This isn't just a pumpkin pie, it's a black bottom pumpkin pie. (In case you didn't catch that from the title). But what in the world does that mean? WELL! It means that it's got a bottom layer of delicious, chocolatey ganache hiding below. Pumpkin's partner in crime to help offset it's sweetness, and add to the richness of flavors.
